-Gave the people a choice of Barabbas, a murderer, or Jesus, an innocent man

-Gave permission for the Crusifiction of Jesus
Washed his hands
Scourging at the Pillar
-whipped with leather cords
Bone, glass, metal tied to cords
Ripped flesh, muscle, destroyed nerves
-die by bleeding to death or by pain
Crowning of Thorns
-mocking Him as a king
-Pilat was struck with pity for Jesus
-crowd was still not satisfied
Pilat sentenced Jesus to death
